IMPACT ON SERVICES DURING THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK
During COVID-19 lockdown the following arrangements are in place:
Public Meetings and Events – All public meetings and events are suspended to protect attendees.
Bus Shelters – These will remain usable. Any queries regarding the bus service should be made with Cumbria County Council at www.cumbria.gov.uk/buses. You must only use transport for essential journeys
Public Hall – Will remain closed to protect the public
Market Hall Toilets – Will remain closed until further notice
Recycling Site – This facility will remain open
Tourist Information Centre – will remain closed to the public but we are working and available on 017683 51177
Appleby Emergency Response Group
Appleby Emergency Response Group is a registered charity that was established following Storm Desmond in 2015. We have a team of local volunteers who are ready to support people affected by emergencies in conjunction with the emergency services and other appropriate authorities.
Purpose: To assist the community in the Parish of Appleby to plan, prepare and recover from an emergency. Working in partnership with local voluntary and statutory agencies to plan for and respond to an emergency situation and by the use of volunteers and other resources to provide assistance during and after an emergency. https://applebyerg.co.uk
